There was a time when I tended to find myself hanging out with L Brands employees. That was the time when I was working at a bar that is close to a L Brands store. At times, the L Brands employees would pass by our bar after work (on their way home). At other times, the L Brands employees would come to while away their time at our bar, especially during their breaks. There were also other occasions when groups of L Brands employees would come to hold their personal meetings at our bar.
One thing I remember about the L Brands employees is the fact that they all tended to be very outgoing individuals. I came to the conclusion that L Brands probably has a system which ensures that only outgoing individuals are recruited to work there. I mean, for the entire duration of 3 years that I interacted with L Brands employees, I hardly encountered any of them who could qualify to be termed as an introvert.
Another thing I remember about the L Brands employees is the fact that they tended to talk about work-related issues a lot, even when off-duty. Thus, for instance, you would find a couple of off-duty L Brands employees discussing their work schedules (as obtained from the aces etm portal) at a time when they should be unwinding and distracting themselves from work. Or you could find a group of off-duty L Brand clerks discussing the new checkout system, at a time when you would have expected them to be discussing football, women, politics or such other things.
Yet another thing I remember about the L Brands employees is the fact that they tended to be very friendly to one another. It was as if they were a family, a close-knit family, and I particularly found it remarkable that you couldn’t catch them badmouthing one another.
