There are pros and cons to hanging out at a public park.
- Cost-effectiveness: The greatest advantage associated with hanging out at public park has to be in the fact that it costs so little. Sometimes all you have to pay is the fare to where the public park is located. And if it near enough for you to walk, then you don’t pay anything. Thus, a public park is arguably the cheapest place you can hang out at.
- Serenity: Public parks tend to be very serene and quiet. This means that they are places where you can ‘connect with your inner self’, refresh your mind and generally get to chill out. While hanging out at a public park, you can also get to resolve any issues that happen to have been bugging you. Like if, for instance, we take a case where you are a GM system’s admin, and you have had a really difficult week trying to get newly signed up employees to understand how to use the GM global connect portal. In that case, you can get all that stress to dissolve while quietly hanging out at a public park. In this regard, hanging out in a public park is very different from hanging out at, say, a nightclub. In that latter instance, you would be bombarded with all manner of noise, sights, vibrations… and ultimately come out more stressed out than you went in!
- Lack of privacy: The fact that it is a ‘public’ park means that anyone can go there. This in turn translates into a chance of you bumping into anyone (including perhaps folks you would rather not meet), while hanging out at a public park. It also means that some of the recreational activities that you’d otherwise have enjoyed at, say, a nightclub or at a private party venue would be out of question while hanging out at public park.
- Lack of stimulating activities: A public park is the sort of place where you are supposed to just sit back (or lie down) and while away your time. It is, in other words, a place of quiet rest. If you prefer more stimulating activities — like music, booze, dancing and so on — you may find that a public park is not the most ideal place for you to hang out at.
